About Aun Raza Photography

Personal Statement

Aun Raza

Aun Raza’s first interests were in drawing and painting and his passion for photography developed later. Its immediacy offered him a way of capturing evanescent sketches and impressions for which he was often restless. People in moments of capitulation or despair, a vivid joy in the air, such moments for him are like visualizations of held breath. Traveling provided him a fertile ground for exasperation and desires, music and cries, chaos and solace, life and desolation; it all kept him awake and thirsty. Crossing borders, physically and metaphorically, has been pivotal. "The rest of the world" provides a spell of silence, a discontinuity in which a sense of distance and humor, a taste for interstices and diagonals could build up.
